You can still sign up for my class at Primitive Gatherings this Saturday, Nov 5th. The “Buggy Barn” method is such fun! Even beginners can master it. It’s fat quarter friendly. Choose four different colors and you are on your way.

I will be teaching this Buggy Barn quilt at Primitive Gatherings CA on November 5th, 10AM to 3:30PM. If you have never made a cut apart quilt, this class is for you. And for those who have, you will love the way this quilt goes together. I used Lisa’s Christmas Gatherings line for the sample. Kits are available from the store. Come join me for a day of fun! Call Primitive Gatherings to sign up 951-304-9787.
Thank you to all of the ladies who attended the retreat this past weekend. It was great to see everyone and share in your enthusiasm. I can’t express how grateful I am for your friendship and continued support.
How many cookies, rice Krispy treats or how much carmel corn, did you eat? And those ginger snaps with the whipped cream pumpkin dip- yum! I need to detox all week. Thank you Sandy H. for making the cookies and carmel corn and Linda S. for making the rice crispy treats.
Our Spring retreat dates are set! April 28th-30th. We have a few spaces available. If you are interested, please email me at email@example.com or you can text me at 951-202-0888.
I hope everyone enjoyed the rest of their Sunday afternoon and evening. Thankfully my team won and I didn’t need to use my new tissue box that Tina made for me (thank you Tina!).
We will not be meeting Thursday, September 15th, due to a family emergency. If you are waiting for a pattern, I can mail it to. If you are coming to the retreat, I can bring your stuff to you there. We will resume in October.
Are you ready for some football? The official start of football season HAS to be one of my MOST favorite days of the year! Every year I fully expect my team to go to the Super Bowl- a girl has to have dreams! Although this year is the year 🙂
OK- so you probably want to hear about quilting. I have contacted everyone on the retreat list via email or phone. We could take 1-2 more sign ups if you are interested. I also have about 5 kits left for anyone who did not know they were available. I tried to mention it, but after so many phone calls, I might have forgotten. If you have not paid your final payment, please contact me to do so. I am traveling today, but will be back home tomorrow. I will email the fabric requirements and retreat info (dates, times, etc) to everyone who has paid, tomorrow. I am working from an IPad and will need my computer at home to get the info sent out correctly.
P.S. – The PSL is back at Starbucks. How did I miss this? It’s not on my diet, but headed there shortly. They do make them in non-fat 🙂
Here is a picture of the fabrics for the fall retreat. If you are interested in a kit, they will be $86.99. I will be making phone calls tomorrow to everyone on the retreat list.
Hi! I hope everyone is getting excited about the retreat, I know we are! I will be contacting everyone in the next few days with final information. Our sample is made from Lori Holt’s Cozy Christmas fabric. I will post a picture of the kit by tomorrow, for those interested. The quilt for this retreat will not be Summer or Winter. It is Winter themed, and features some sampler blocks, but it is a much easier quilt than the two previous ones. Winter and Summer are coming for the 2017 Spring and Fall retreats. Those of you who have attended the previous retreats will know what I am talking about. I will post a picture at the bottom of this post for those of you who have not attended. You may be interested in joining us next year for the remaining two. I have several inquiries about patterns for the Autumn and Spring quilts. They are not ready for resale yet. I am still working on some corrections.
I apologize to everyone who has tried to contact me either via email or phone. I’ve been MIA for the past few months. Many of you know that my 20 year old son came to live with me last November after a hospital stay. He did not recover and required full-time care. As a woman and more importantly a Mom, you often take on the world, thinking you can handle it all. When I made the decision in February to close the store, it was in part due to having to care for my son. With a full-time job and his care, plus a daughter still at home, I had to let go of the store. Unfortunately, things related to some of the ongoing store business were pushed aside. I apologize to anyone that was inconvenienced.
I have spent the summer with my kids. I felt it was important for us to be together as a family as this was the last summer of any kids living at home. I had to make the difficult decision to place my son in assisted living. He has been there for a few weeks. I appreciate everyone who has helped me, counseled me, been there for me! I have some great friends. My oldest daughter graduated from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks), and just arrived in Wisconsin (Go Badgers), to attend graduate school. I will be taking my youngest daughter up to Oregon (Go Ducks) this week, to attend school. Leaving me with an empty nest.
I don’t usually share personal information, but I think in light of some of the questions people have had, it was important.
So it looks like I am going to have time on my hands and I am ready to get back to quilting! I’m excited about what lies ahead and can’t wait for the next retreat.
Our email address if you need to contact me is firstname.lastname@example.org. I will post a phone number when I post the final retreat info.
Here are the pictured of the Autumn and Spring quilts as promised.
